The Mill House is a beautiful detached Georgian farmhouse situated in a quiet country lane. It has spectacular views across fields to the Downs and is a ten-minute walk from the unspoilt Brighstone Bay beach.
A five-minute walk away from the house is the picturesque village of Brighstone,which has a well-stocked village shop, family-friendly pub, gift shop, library, museum, tea shop, cafe and children’s play park.
The house sleeps up to 12 guests in three large bedrooms with king-sized beds (one with a four-poster bed and one with a wooden cot), one double bedroom and two twin rooms (one with full-sized bunk beds and one ground floor bedroom with two single beds).
There are three bathrooms — one family bathroom with a corner bath and shower, one bathroom with a rolltop bath, and one downstairs bathroom with a shower.
The property benefits from a beautiful handmade kitchen with an electric Aga, Miele electric fan oven and induction hob, microwave, dishwasher and two tall fridge-freezers.

A welcome pack voucher is provided for guests to choose their own items at the Brighstone Village Shop, which stocks lots of yummy local produce.
There is an elegant sitting room with Georgian shutters, an open fireplace (starter packs of logs provided), stereo system and ample comfortable seating.
Next door is a cosy snug sitting room with sofa, chairs, a wood burning stove, Smart TV, DVD player and a selection of family games, children’s toys, puzzles and books.
The dining room with views over the garden seats 12 people and has a wood burning stove.
Set in an area of outstanding natural beauty, The Mill House is the perfect base for hiking, stargazing, mountain biking and cycling.
Footpaths and bike trails can be followed from The Mill House to join coastal and inland paths leading to Brighstone Bay, Brighstone Forest and dramatic downland trails including the Tennyson Trail and the Chalk Ridge Extreme.
As a Unesco biosphere reserve, with light pollution kept to a minimum, stargazing from the garden or nearby Brightstone beach is a great night-time activity for the whole family.
Less than a mile away is a world-renowed dinosaur hotspot — an 11-mile stretch of coastline that runs between Compton and Sandown that regularly yields a large collection of dinosaur bones and fossils.
The sandy bays of Compton, Totland and Colwell are a short drive away as are the small towns of Freshwater and Yarmouth offering a good choice of restaurants, cafes, pubs and shops.
The Mill House is surrounded by large, private and enclosed gardens with mature shrubs, trees and large lawns. There is a patio area with garden furniture and a gas BBQ.
There is ample parking to the rear of the property. A hot tub is available on request.
Children of all ages are welcome, as are dogs (max 2 dogs with a pet fee of £25 per pet).
The Mill House has been awarded the VisitEngland five star and gold awards since 2009, the Beautiful South bronze award for self catering property of year 2019-2020 and the VisitEngland rose award 2022 recognising service excellence.
